SUMMARY:Sustainability becomes hard law
DESCRIPTION:The Association Luxembourgeoise des Juristes de Droit Bancaire (ALJB) has the pleasure of inviting you to a webinar on Sustainability\, “Sustainability becomes hard law”\, which will be held on Wednesday 20 January 2021\, from 17:00 to 19:00\, with the participation of the the organisations representing the financial sector as well as their lawyers and compliance officers : ABBL\, ALCO and ACA. \nProgramme\nFirst part\nMe Philippe-Emmanuel PARTSCH\, Partner at Arendt\, will introduce the main legal texts that are\, or will soon become\, applicable to the financial sector. These include the Non-Financial Disclosure Regulation (NFDR)\, the Second Shareholder Rights Directive (SRD II)\, the Sustainability Finance Disclosure Regulation (SFDR)\, the Taxonomy Regulation\, the Climate Benchmarks Regulation (CBR)\, the Green Bond Standards and the Ecolabel measures. The provisions of the SFDR\, which enter into force on 10 March 2021\, will be discussed in more detail. \nThe other speakers will interactively comment on Me PARTSCH’s presentation. \nSecond part\nYou will be able to choose your break-out session\, which will focus on how these legal texts are applied in one field of the financial sector. \nMe Martin MAGER\, Partner at Linklaters\, will cover the investment funds sector and touch upon some investment fund specific texts such as the envisaged amendments to UCITS and AIFMD.\nMr Julien FROUMOUTH\, Sustainable Finance Advisor at ABBL will cover the banking and investment firms’ sectors and comment some specific topics such as disclosures and Environmental\, Social and Governance (ESG) risks requirements and the envisaged amendments to MiFID II.\nMs Sandrine CHABRERIE\, Director European affairs\, ACA\, will cover the insurance sector and discuss some insurance specific texts such as the envisaged amendments to Solvency II and the Insurance Distribution Directive (IDD).\nThis break-out session will be organised at a later date. \nRegistration\nRegister here by Monday 18 January 2021 at the latest. \nThanks to the support of each of ALJB\, ALCO\, ABBL and ACA\, the webinar is free of charge. \nEach participant will receive a secured link on the day of the conference. This link will enable participants to access a private space on the YouTube platform.
